Former NFL Defensive Back Sharper Charged With Rape

(Los Angeles, CA) -- Former Pro Bowl safety Darren Sharper is now facing rape charges in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office says Sharper has been charged with drugging and raping two women. The alleged incidents occurred last October and last month. Prosecutors say in both instances, Sharper allegedly invited women back to his hotel room, gave them something to drink and then sexually assaulted them after they had passed out. The 38-year-old Sharper was suspended from his job as an analyst for the NFL Network when he was initially arrested last month. He also faces rape allegations in Louisiana, Nevada and Arizona.
Sharper was a five-time Pro Bowl selection and a member of the NFL's 2000s All-Decade Team. He played 14 seasons in the NFL, splitting his time between the Green Bay Packers, the Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints.
