First Lady Cheers Food Labeling Plan
(Washington, DC) -- First Lady Michelle Obama is cheering proposed changes in how packaged foods and drinks are labeled. She told NBC's "Today" more choices are what her fight against obesity's all about.
New food labels proposed by the FDA this week would make total calorie counts easier to spot and highlight added nutrients like potassium and Vitamin D. The FDA also wants to alter serving sizes to reflect what people actually consume, such as labeling an entire bottle of soda as one serving.
