LENZERHEIDE, Switzerland (AP) — Anna Fenninger of Austria is poised to add the World Cup giant slalom trophy to her overall title, after being faster than standings leader Jessica Lindell-Vikarby in the first run of the season-ending race Sunday.
Fenninger was second fastest, trailing 0.04 behind Anemone Marmottan of France's pace-setting 59.33 seconds.
Lindell-Vikarby of Sweden was third, trailing 0.18 behind Marmottan and 0.14 behind Fenninger.
Fenninger, the Olympic silver medalist in GS, would win her first career World Cup discipline title if positions are maintained in the afternoon second run.
Lindell-Vikarby leads by 14 points in the standings, but second-place finishes are worth 20 points more than third.
Mikaela Shiffrin of the United States was fourth, 0.65 behind Marmottan, one day after winning her fifth World Cup slalom of the season.
