(Washington, DC) -- The General Services Administration is expected to announce in the coming days a list of finalists for a new FBI headquarters. An announcement could come by the end of this week. So far, some of the candidate locations include Poplar Point in Southeast DC, a chunk of land near the Greenbelt Metro station and another piece of land in the Springfield area of Fairfax County. Maryland, DC and Virginia have been competing for the new site ever since last year's announcement that the FBI would be vacating the Hoover Building in downtown Washington.
