Feds: Truck Driver In Tracy Morgan Crash Was Speeding
(Middlesex County, NJ) -- It turns out the Georgia truck driver who smashed into comedian Tracy Morgan's limo bus on the New Jersey Turnpike was speeding. A preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board says Kevin Roper was going 65 miles an hour at the time of the crash, 20 miles an hour over the speed limit. Morgan was critically injured in the June 7th crash, while his friend and mentor James McNair died. Roper has pleaded not guilty to vehicular homicide and is out on bail.
