Federal Judge Rules 10-Day Waiting Period Unconstitutional For Gun Owners
(Fresno, CA) -- A federal judge in Fresno is ruling that California's waiting period on gun purchases is a violation on the rights to bear arms for current gun owners only. U.S. District Judge Anthony Ishii ruled that gun owners who have already passed background checks or have permits to carry concealed weapons will not be subject to the 10-day waiting period that is required for first-time gun owners. The lawsuit against the state was originally filed back in 2011 by three gun owners and two gun-rights groups.
