Federal Judge: DC's Ban On Handguns In Public Is Unconstitutional
(Washington, DC) -- A federal judge's ruling says it's okay to carry handguns in public in Washington, DC. Judge Frederick Scullin said in a 19-page ruling the District's ban on carrying handguns outside the home was unconstitutional. The court has ordered the city to allow DC residents and non-residents to carry handguns in public. The case had been dragging on in court for five years.
