(Big Sur, CA) -- Firefighters are still battling a blaze that is tearing through California's Big Sur region. U.S. Forest Service officials say the fire near Highway One has now grown to 550 acres and has destroyed 15 homes and buildings since it broke out late Sunday. Roughly 100 people have been forced to evacuate. Four hundred firefighters are battling the blaze, which is five percent contained. Fire officials say dry weather for the region this year has led to large swaths of dry brush, which is fueling the fire.
