Evacuation Orders Issued For Iowa Town Due To Fire

(Northwood, IA) -- An entire Iowa town is being evacuated because of a fire burning at a nearby municipal airport. Officials at Worth County Management say residents of Northwood are ordered to leave immediately due to the danger from burning sulfuric acid. The "Des Moines Register" reports people are being told go to the Kensett Community Center located about six miles south of Northwood on Highway 65. Highway 65 is closed in both directions near the town along the Minnesota border.
