England To Require Children To Learn Computer Coding
(Undated) -- England is requiring all children to learn computer coding, but the question is, are teachers ready to teach it? Starting in September, England will become the first country in the world to require coding instruction for all students aged five to 14. However, a poll of teachers in England finds nearly two-thirds don't feel confident in their ability to teach computing. A quarter of teachers say they haven't had any formal training to teach coding. The director of education for the British Computer Society estimates it could take three to five years before the new computing curriculum is working effectively.
