(Undated) -- More than a million Americans will see their long-term emergency federal unemployment insurance benefits end on Saturday. Congress went home for the holidays without extending those benefits, which were introduced in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis. Those who pushed for an extension of the benefits were hoping to get the provision added to the two-year budget deal that awaits the President's signature. The Ryan-Murray budget passed the Senate last week without the extension and notices have been mailed out to those whose benefits are ending.
