(Washington, DC) -- In the wake of a holiday weekend that saw over 80 shootings in Chicago, more than a dozen of them fatal, Senator Dick Durbin is saying enough is enough. Durbin today took to the Senate floor today to introduce a measure to fight gun trafficking. Durbin's amendment would mandate a 15-year prison term for anyone who buys a gun to sell or give to another for use in a crime. Durbin says the way to protect the rights of law-abiding gun owners is to do everything possible to keep guns out of the hands of people who would use them to hurt or kill innocent people.
