(Los Angeles, CA) -- A new futuristic thriller is running roughshod over the latest "Muppets" movie at theaters in the U.S. and Canada. "Divergent" tells the story of a world where people are divided into distinct factions based on human virtues. It made 56-million dollars during its debut weekend. Disney's "Muppets Most Wanted" came in second, earning 16-point-five-million dollars on its opening weekend. Third place went to the animated "Mr. Peabody & Sherman." The Dreamworks film sold more than eleven-million dollars worth of tickets.
