(Undated) -- The Deep South is in the deep freeze today. Ice and snow are expected all the way down to the Gulf of Mexico. New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu has declared a state of emergency, while state officials in neighboring Mississippi say as much as four inches of snow could fall on the south-central part of the state. Snow is in the forecast for Atlanta and Macon, Georgia, as well as Montgomery and Birmingham, Alabama.
