(Raleigh, NC) -- Victims of a North Carolina sterilization program have six days to file compensation claims. More than 76-hundred women were sterilized without their consent between 1929 and 1974 under the state's eugenics program. North Carolina has established a ten-million-dollar fund for victims. However it's estimated the payout would be less than 20-thousand dollars per person. Checks will be issued in June of next year.
