(Undated) -- Violent thunderstorms and possible tornadoes could slam Nebraska, Iowa and northern Illinois this afternoon. Forecasters say tornadoes are most likely to hit places like Grand Island, Nebraska and Rapid City, South Dakota. Heavy downpours could cause flooding, with large hail also pelting the region through Wednesday morning. Wind gusts of more than 70 miles per hour could lead to power outages from downed trees and also damage homes and vehicles. The thunderstorms are likely to snarl the morning commute in the Chicago area on Wednesday.
