(Roswell, NM) -- A 12-year-old boy is in custody after a shooting at a New Mexico middle school. State Police say they believe the boy is the only suspect in the shooting at Berrendo Middle School in Roswell. A search warrant is currently being served at the boy's residence. Police say the boy used a 20-guage shotgun when he entered the school gymnasium and began firing. Two students and another staff member were hurt. The injured students were taken to a Texas hospital for treatment where one of the victims is in critical condition. Police in New Mexico say they don't have a motive for the shooting. Authorities say a staff member at the school helped stop the shooting by persuading the shooter to put the gun down.
