Crookston Couple Dies, Daughters Sickened in Probable Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
(Crookston, MN) -- A Crookston couple is dead and their daughter is hospitalized after an apparent furnace problem led to the buildup of carbon monoxide in their home. The Polk County Sheriff's Department says 49-year-old Kent Ostgaard and his 51-year-old wife Natalie were found dead in the home yesterday morning, and their 22-year-old daughter was discovered unconscious but still breathing. A teenage daughter remained conscious but was treated at the hospital. "The Crookston Times" is reporting that Natalie had made several recent Facebook posts about furnace trouble and issues with getting repair parts delivered, as well as using alternative heating sources. The investigation into the incident continues.
