(New York, NY) -- Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling is banned from the NBA for life after racist comments he made came to light over the weekend. NBA commissioner Adam Silver also fined Sterling two-and-a-half million dollars. Silver announced the ban and fine yesterday, just hours before the Clippers hosted the Golden State Warriors in Game Five of their playoff series. An audio recording was leaked over the weekend in which Sterling is heard telling his girlfriend not to associate publicly with African-Americans or bring them to Clippers games.
