(Los Angeles, CA) -- Attorneys for Los Angeles Clippers co-owners Donald and Shelly Sterling are playing pressure defense over the sale of the NBA team. Shelly Sterling's attorneys filed an emergency legal brief in federal court Sunday night to stop Donald Sterling from blocking today's hearing on the sale. Donald Sterling's lawyers filed papers just before the Fourth of July holiday asking to have the trial moved to federal court. The hearing scheduled today in Los Angeles County probate court will consider Shelly Sterling's planned sale of the team to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer for two billion dollars.
