(Carlsbad, CA) -- Firefighters in San Diego County say the Poinsettia Fire is 100 percent contained as of 5 p.m. Saturday. It broke out Wednesday in Carlsbad and forced thousands of people from their homes. It burned nearly 600 acres, destroyed 8 homes and gutted an 18-unit apartment building. Police officials say it may also be responsible for the death of a man whose burned body was found Thursday in a known homeless camp. The fire was one of nearly a dozen around the North County that burned more than 27-thousand acres of land and destroyed at least 25 homes this week.
