Calderon Indicted On Corruption Charges

(Los Angeles, CA) -- California State Senator Ron Calderon is facing federal corruption charges. The U.S. Attorney's Office says Calderon and his brother Tom have been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges including mail and wire fraud, bribery and money laundering. According to the indictment, Calderon solicited bribes including money, golf outings and trips in exchange for support on certain legislation. The Montebello Democrat is also accused of taking bribes from an undercover FBI agent in a separate scheme to help legislation regarding film-industry tax credits.
