(Washington, DC) -- The family of a woman killed in the Navy Yard shootings in Washington, DC is suing over their loved one's death. The lawsuit targets Navy, the Department of Veterans Affairs and two government subcontractors. The family of Mary Knight claims relaxed security allowed gunman Aaron Alexis to carry out his massacre on September 16th. They're also suing Veterans Affairs for releasing Alexis from a VA hospital where he was being treated for psychological issues. The lawsuit filed in Tampa, Florida, seeks more than 37-million dollars in damages.
