Theater Gunman May Have Had Previous Texting Incident
Wednesday, January 15
(Wesley Chapel, FL) -- The retired police captain accused of shooting a man inside a Florida theater may have confronted someone else about texting in a theater. Prosecutors told a judge Tuesday a woman told police Curtis Reeves confronted her in December 2013.
Reeves is accused of killing Chad Oulson and injuring his wife. Police said he told them he feared for his life and opened fire after he was hit with an unknown object that turned out to be popcorn. Reeves remains jailed without bond. He allegedly got annoyed with Oulson for texting during moview previews.
Prosecutors told a judge Tuesday a woman contacted investigators about her own texting-related run-in with Reeves.
