(St. Paul, MN) -- Minnesota Attorney General Lori Swanson is suing a Plymouth-based collections agency as part of a crackdown on illegal debt collections. Swanson alleges Bradstreet and Associates LLC is adding up to 22-percent interest illegally on old debts written off by U.S. Bancorp and Wells Fargo. The firm purchased the debts totaling 18-million dollars in 2009. Swanson estimates 16-thousand Minnesotans have been targeted.
