(Carlsbad,CA) -- A badly burned body found in Southern California is the first death reported from a series of wildfires burning in San Diego County. Firefighters located the body in the ashes of an area in Carlsbad known for being a camping place for homeless persons. The identity has not been released. The fire in Carlsbad is one of nine that have burned more than ten-thousand acres over the past few days in North San Diego County. City officials lifted the evacuation for Carlsbad Thursday evening.
