Breastfeeding Mom Won't Give Up Pot Smoking

(Portland, OR) -- A breastfeeding mother from Oregon finds herself at the center of a growing controversy after saying she's going to keep smoking pot. Crystal Cain says she doesn't adhere to the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations because her midwife told her it was fine.
The midwife also advised Cain to keep on smoking marijuana during her pregnancy. Her baby was born two-months premature and needed an incubator for a little while. She says smoking pot helped with her nausea and anxiety during her pregnancy.
