Firefighters Say Spread Of Colby Fire Has Stopped

(Glendora, CA) -- Firefighters are keeping the massive wildfire burning about 40 miles outside of Los Angeles from spreading. L.A. County Fire Chief John Tripp says the Colby Fire has been devastating since it broke out Thursday morning in the hills around Glendora, destroying five homes and damaging 17 other buildings. Authorities say the fire stands at around 17-hundred acres, and that firefighters are working diligently to keep the flames from spreading. Glendora police officials say up to two-thousand people who were evacuated from their homes earlier Thursday will be able to return tonight. Three men remain behind bars on charges they started the fire.
