(Minneapolis, MN) -- The Guthrie Theater lost money in the last fiscal year for the first time in nearly 20 years. Officials announced a loss of nearly 438-thouand dollars for the fiscal year ending August 31, citing significant declines in ticket sales. Director Joe Dowling noted the theater is still financially healthy overall, but they're not happy about losing money. He added they took some risks that didn't pan out in the 50th anniversary year for the Guthrie.
