White House To Release Full Review Of Surveillance Report

(Washington, DC) -- The White House will release the full report of a government surveillance review group today. Presidential spokesman Jay Carney said the Review Group on Intelligence and Communications Technologies has produced a serious, extensive document that deserves a thorough inspection by the public.
President Obama met with members of the group at the White House today. He ordered a full review amid a growing controversy over eavesdropping by the NSA. This week, a federal judge said the NSA's bulk collection of U.S. phone records is probably unconstitutional. A government appeal of the opinion is expected and the issue will likely go to the Supreme Court.
