Snoop Dogg Honors Herbie Hancock At Kennedy Center Honors

(Washington, DC) -- Snoop Dogg is paying tribute to jazz legend Herbie Hancock at the 36th annual Kennedy Center Honors. During Sunday's airing of the annual gala on CBS, Snoop put a jazzy twist on his hip-hop classic "Gin and Juice."
Snoop also dropped a few verses from the Us3 song "Cantaloop (Flip Fantasia)," which uses a sample from Hancock's "Cantaloupe Island." Following his set, Snoop thanked Herbie for "creating hip-hop." Then Beastie Boys affiliate Mix Master Mike put on a show by putting his own spin on Herbie's funky hit "Rockit." Billy Joel, Carlos Santana, Shirley Maclaine and Martina Arroya were also honored at the gala.
Meantime, Snoop is also making headlines for fist-bumping Secretary of State John Kerry. On Instagram, the rapper posted a short video clip of his interaction with Kerry during the Kennedy Center Honors ceremony. Apart from the fist-bump, the video also captures the pair apparently discussing Herbie Hancock's influence on hip-hop.
