(Undated) -- AT&T and DirecTV say their merger would benefit customers. The telephone and satellite TV providers told the Federal Communications Commission in a filing on Wednesday that the bigger company would have more leverage in negotiating with programmers. That, the companies say, would let them pass along savings to their customers. AT&T and DirecTV announced their proposed 48-point-five billion dollar deal last month. It needs approval by the FCC and the Justice Department.
