Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed Responds To Criticism
(Atlanta, GA) -- Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed is responding to stinging criticism over his city's response to a rare winter snow storm.
A massive traffic jam was triggered yesterday after schools and businesses let everyone go home at the same time. That led to more than 700 traffic accidents in the metro Atlanta area. Hundreds of abandoned vehicles are continuing to snag travel in the area today. Reed says no storm-related deaths are reported. Mayor Reed is facing a firestorm of criticism after his city was basically shut down by a storm that dropped a just few inches of snow on the metro.
