Appeals Court Prevents Arizona's Denial Of Licenses To Immigrants
(San Francisco, CA) -- An appeals court in San Francisco is blocking an Arizona policy to deny driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants who have work permits. Citizens for a Better Arizona co-founder Randy Parraz says it's a great day for Arizona.
Governor Jan Brewer issued a statement criticizing the ruling from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She called it outrageous, but not entirely surprising. The appeals court said it found no legitimate state interest to withhold driver's licenses to those taking part in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
