Rising superstar Mike Trout of the Angels was named MVP. In his final all star appearance, longtime Yankee great Derek Jeter had a solid outing, posting a double and a single. Twins' closer and Minnesota native Glen Perkins got a standing ovation before getting the final three outs of the game. Minnesota catcher Kurt Suzuki did not have an at bat.
