(Washington, DC) -- Dozens of unsafe bus companies are off the road thanks to a federal crackdown. The U.S. Transportation Department announced today that 52 carriers and more than 300 vehicles have been put out of business as a result of Operation Quick Strike. Federal officials say the eight-month long effort shutdown companies that put passengers at risk. The action follows top-to-bottom safety reviews and inspections of the 250 most at-risk bus companies.
