Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman Dead Of Apparent Drug Overdose

(New York, NY) -- Police in New York say Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his Manhattan apartment with a syringe in his arm. The Oscar-winning actor was found dead this morning of an apparent drug overdose. He was 46. Investigators also recovered two small plastic bags in the apartment containing a substance suspected of being heroin.
Hoffman won an Academy Award for Best Actor in the 2005 film, "Capote." Hoffman completed a ten-day substance abuse program for heroin last year.
