(Tallahassee, FL) -- Detectives are working to determine what drove a Florida man to murder his wife and son with a crossbow before slitting his own throat. Authorities today confirmed they found the body of Pedro Maldonado in a hotel room Wednesday. His alleged three-day rampage began Monday, when Maldonado killed his wife and teenage son near Fort Lauderdale by impaling them with arrows fired from his crossbow. He then drove 450 miles to Tallahassee, where he wounded his 21-year-old son with the same weapon. Investigators say that son managed to escape without serious injury. Maldonado then fled to a hotel, where he cut his own throat and bled to death.
