Justin Bieber Announces Retirement On Twitter

(Undated) -- Justin Bieber isn't bringing his fans much peace this Christmas. The pop star sent out a tweet Tuesday night telling his "beloved Beliebers" that he's "officially retiring." He followed the announcement with a post complaining about the lies that people in the media tell about him. And while he says those people want to see him fail, he continued by telling fans that he would never leave them and that he's "here forever." The somewhat mixed message comes not long after Bieber said during an interview with a Los Angeles radio station that he was retiring after his next album. His manager Scooter Braun wouldn't confirm the supposed retirement, but said later that he had advised the singer to take a year off.

As fans try to figure out whether Bieber is still working as a pop star, they can catch him on the big screen. His new documentary, "Justin Bieber's Believe," arrives in theaters this week.
