Former Vikings Punter Says He Was Cut For Stance On Gay Marriage

(Minneapolis, MN) -- Former Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe says the team cut him before the season for his outspoken support of gay marriage. Kluwe tells ESPN.com that he didn't approach other team officials, the NFL or the Players' Association about the matter because he feared it might end his career. The Vikings let Kluwe go in May after eight seasons. He then signed with the Oakland Raiders, but was released in September.
