(St. Paul, MN) -- Deer hunters in Minnesota saw their harvest decline this year compared to 2012. Preliminary numbers from the state Department of Natural Resources show a drop of six-percent during firearms season to 144-thousand deer after hunters took 153-thousand last year. The late season hunt in southeastern Minnesota is also showing a decline from five-thousand last year to 44-hundred this year. Overall, hunters harvested 164-thouand-550 deer this year.
