Apology Issued To Abuse Victims From Archbishop Nienstedt

(Edina, MN) -- Archbishop John Nienstedt is apologizing to sexual assault victims, abused by clergy members over the past decades. He spoke out during the homily on Sunday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Edinia, saying he is sorry for the "indignation" felt and adding quote, "you deserve better." Several weeks ago, the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis released a list of 34 priests accused of sexually abusing children as part of a court order. Archbishop Nienstedt admitted he did not fully investigate abuse allegations when he arrived in Minneapolis seven years ago and wants to restore the confidence of Catholics in the church.
