California Teen Still On Life Support After Tonsil Removal

(Oakland, CA) -- A 13-year-old California girl is still on life support after major complications following surgery to remove her tonsils. A lawyer representing Jahi McMath's family filed an urgent request seeking to block the hospital from further action yesterday -- the same day staff members were supposed to pull the plug.
The girl's uncle, Omari Sealey, is asking for the community's support. McMath underwent the procedure at Oakland Children's Hospital early last week but went into cardiac arrest after the surgery and was later declared brain dead. The goal of the surgery was to help alleviate her sleep apnea.
