Lawsuit Planned To Halt State Senate Office Building Construction

(St. Paul, MN) -- An attorney and a former state Representative have a press conference planned for today to announce a lawsuit to stop the construction of a planned state Senate office building. The "Star Tribune" reports Erick Kaardal and former Representative Jim Knoblach will file for a court injunction to prevent the design and construction of the planned 90-million dollar building. Lawmakers have approved spending 89-point-five million on the facility, but Kaardal and Knoblach are taking issue with how it was done. The spending was included in the tax bill and not a bonding bill, which are typically used for large state building projects.
