Governor Wants Metro-North Engineer Disciplined

(New York, NY) -- New York Governor Andrew Cuomo says preliminary investigations make it appear that the actions of the engineer caused the derailment of the transit train which killed four people. Cuomo said while the conduct of William Rockefeller allowing the train to speed into a curve are still under investigation, he wants to be assured the MTA is taking the necessary disciplinary measures. The governor also said the MTA should expedite automated speed control for vulnerable track locations across the Metro-North and Long Island Rail Road systems.
