(Grenoble, France) -- Formula 1 racing legend Michael Schumacher is in stable condition in a hospital in Grenoble, France after suffering a critical head injury. Schumacher, who turns 45 on Friday, fell and hit a rock while skiing in the French Alps on Sunday. His agent says he remains in a medically induced coma after undergoing a second surgery. That came after a brain scan indicated small, "surprising" signs of improvement. Schumacher retired from Formula 1 racing last year after winning an unprecedented seven world titles.
