2 Boston Firefighters Killed Battling 9-Alarm Blaze

(Boston) -- Two Boston firefighters are dead after battling a nine-alarm apartment fire fueled by high winds. Boston Deputy Fire Chief Joseph Finn identified the fallen firefighters as Lieutenant Ed Walsh and Michael Kennedy. He says the two firefighters were trapped in the basement, where the fire is believed to have originated. A number of firefighters were injured when a backdraft blew them down the front stairs of the building. Finn says 13 firefighters were hurt battling the blaze, which broke out in the Back Bay section of the city.
