(Washington, DC) -- President Obama is again pushing House Republicans to embrace comprehensive immigration reform.
In a White House event, the President argued the nation's immigration system is broken and an overhaul is long overdue. He said the U.S. will benefit from bringing millions of undocumented immigrants out of a "shadow economy," calling it the right thing to do. Obama argued that reform will boost national security, expand the tax base, grow the economy and reduce deficits.
