(Washington, DC) -- GOP House Speaker John Boehner is repeating a call for top Democrats to sit down and negotiate an end to the partial shutdown of the federal government.
After a closed caucus meeting with his members, Boehner said he's ready to talk. President Obama and other Democratic leaders have refused to negotiate with House leaders as long as the shutdown continues. Dems accuse House Republicans of holding the government hostage in an ongoing effort to repeal, defund or delay the healthcare reform law.
House Speaker John Boehner said Americans expect Congress to work out its differences.
Boehner warned that by refusing to negotiate, Harry Reid and the Presdient are putting the country on a dangerous path.
