(Los Angeles, CA) -- Things are slowly returning to normal at Los Angeles International Airport.
That was L-A World Airports Executive Director Gina Marie Lindsey at a press conference Saturday afternoon. LAX Police Chief Patrick Gannon thanked the responding officers who tried to save the life of TSA agent Gerardo Hernandez. Hernandez was shot dead when the suspect, Paul Ciancia allegedly began shooting at Terminal Three Friday morning. The shooting touched off a chaotic scene at LAX and forced the major travel hub to shut down. Hundreds of flights were affected by the shutdown and dozens were diverted to other airports.
LAX Police Chief Patrick Gannon said his officers tried to save injured TSA agent Gerardo Hernandez.
L.A. Councilman Mike Bonin thanked first responders and the public.
